Levator fonksiyonu 4mm ve altında olan ileri derecede miyojenik pitozis olgularında Whitnall ligamenti askısı ve tars üzerinde avansman kombinasyonu etkinliğini araştırmak amacıyla çalışma planlandı. Levator fonksiyonları 4mm veya daha az olan ileri derecede miyojenik pitozlu 7 olguya bu yeni teknik uygulandı. Olguların altısında (% 85.7) başarılı sonuç alındı. Bir olguda rezidüel pitozis kaldı, fakat vizüel aksı açıldı. Pitozisin cerrahi tedavisinde Whitnall ligament askısı ve avansman kombinasyonunun iyi bir yöntem olduğu kanaatine varıldı

Abstract

We investigated effectiveness of Whitnall's ligament suspension in combination with advancement on the tarsal plate in the surgical therapy for severe ptosis. This new technique was performed in seven cases of severe ptosis whose levator functions were 4mm or less. Succesful results were achieved in six of them (85.7 %). One had residually ptosis, but his visual axis has been opened. It is concluded that the combination of Whitnall's ligament suspension and advancement on the tarsal plate is a good alternative to treat severe ptosis.
