Trabeculectomy with mitomycin C in two cases of iridocorneal endothelial syndrome

Özet

Esansiyel iris atrofisi, bir iridokorneal endotelyal sendrom (İKE)'dur. Daha çok orta yaş kadınlarda tek taraflı glokom ile karakterizedir. Büyüme ve göç etme yeteneğine sahip (irabekül ve iris yüzeyine) anormal korneal endotel hücrelerinin neden olduğu pupil ve iris değişiklikleri ile, periferik ön sineşilerin (POS) eşlik ettiği sekonder glokom tablosu söz konusudur. Etyopatogenez konusunda bir çok hipotez ileri sürülse de, hastalığın nedeni halen bilinmemektedir. Bu sunumda esansiyel iris atrofisi tanısı almış iki olguya klinik yaklaşım ve cerrahi tedavileri tartışılacaktır.

Abstract

Essential iris atrophy is a iridocorneal endothelial syndrom (ICE). It is usally characterised with unilateral glaucoma at middle aged women secondary glaucoma, which accompanies with peripheral anterior syneshies and abnormal cornea! cells that has capability to proliferation and migration (to trabecule and iris surface) is discussed. Although there are many hypothesis about etiopathogenesis, the reason has not known yet. In this article, two cases which were diagnosed as essential iris atrophy will be discussed for clinical approach and management.
