Tiplere göre Duane retraksiyon sendromu dağılımı; 551 (%87,2) hasta Duane retraksiyon sendromu Tip I, 35 (%5,5) hasta Duane ret- raksiyon sendromu Tip II, 46 (%7,3) hasta Duane retraksiyon sendromu Tip III’dür.

Abstract

Objective: Duane’s retraction syndrome is a complex disease and neurological and genetic factors have been reported in the etiology of Duane’s retraction syndrome. In a recent classification, Duane syndrome is included in the congenital cranial dysinnervation disorders. In this report, we aimed to determine to the systemic abnormalities in patients with Duane’s retraction syndrome. Material and Method: A retrospective chart was reviewed of 632 Duane’s retraction syndrome patients who were followed up between 1995 and 2015. Patients were enrolled in the study if they were followed up at least 6 months. Various characteristics, including family history and associated systemic abnormalities and syndromes were studied. Results: Mean follow up time of 632 patients were 40.8 months. There were 255 male and 377 female patients. 551 (%87.2) had type I, 35 (%5.5) had type II, and 46 (%7.3) had type III. 43 patients had associated systemic abnormalities and syndromes. Conclusion: Most cases of Duane syndrome are observed unaccompaied. However various systemic abnormalities and syndromes were as- sosiated with Duane’s retraction syndrome. If the patients has systemic abnormalities and syndromes systemic assesment should be made.
