Özet
Stiloid proçes, kafa kaidesinde temporal kemikten aşağı, me-diale ve anteriora doğru uzanan ince bir kemiktir ve etrafında¬ki yumuşak dokularla yastıklanması ve korunaklı bir bölgede bulunması nedeniyle travmadan korunur. Literatürde izole sti¬loid proçes kırığına nadir olarak rastlanır. Bu çalışmada man-dibula parasimfiz bölgesine gelen kunt travma sonucu stiloid kemikte unilateral olarak meydana gelen izole bir kırık olgusu sunulmuş ve ayırıcı tanısı tartışılmıştır.
Abstract
Styloid process is a thin bone projects from the skull base, extending from the temporal bone, inferiorly, medially and anteriorly and protected from trauma as it is supported by soft tissues and located in a protected area. Isolated styloid process fracture is reported rarely in the literature. In this study, unilateral styloid process fracture , as a result of blunt trauma directed to the mandibular parasymphyseal region is presented and the differential diagnosis is discussed.
