Özet

Yumuşak aslar materyaller, rijit akrilik protezlerin doku yüzeyine uygulanan esnek polimerlerdir. En yaygın olarak, sert kaide plağını tolere edemeyen ve bu kaidelerle kronik acı ve ağrı hisseden hastalar için kullarıdırlar. Protezdeki yumuşak astar, ağrıyı hafifletmeye ve hastanın protez kabulünü artırmaya yardım eder. Bu materyaller, protez ve altındaki oral dokular arasında yastık etkisi ile çiğneme darbesiyle oluşturulan enerjiyi absorbe ederler. Aynı zamanda, çiğneme yükünü daha eşit dağıtırlar. Abstract

Soft lining materials are resilient polymers which are applied to the fitting surface of rigid acrylic dentures. They are most commonly used for the patients who cannot tolerate a hard base and who experience chronic soreness or pain with them. A soft lining on the denture will help to relieve the pain and enhance patient acceptance of the denture. These materials absorb some of the energy produced by masticatory impact with a cushion effect between the denture and underlying oral tissues. Also, they distribute the masticatory load transmitted more evenly. In this article, the types, chemical contents and some properties of temporary and permanent soft lining materials will be reviewed.
