Özet

1919-1922 döneminde, İngiltere’nin elindeki en güçlü propaganda araçlarından biri The Times gazetesidir.

Abstract

In the period from 1919 to 1922, the English newspaper The Times was one of the most influential organs of propaganda possessed by the British. Fully aware of this, both the Ankara and Istanbul governments attempted to influence English public opinion by seeking to have material published in The Times. However their efforts proved unsuccessful and what in the end caused a shift in the tone of the coverage in The Times was not any Turkish success in infiltrating the pages of the paper but was brought about by the changed political circumstances as a result of the Kemalist victory in the War of National Liberation.
