Özet

Bilimsel ve teknolojik gelişmelerle gelişen ve değişen sağlık bakım sisteminde bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin kullanımı büyük bir hızla artmaktadır. Sağlık bakım hizmeti verenle- rin nitelikli hizmet vermesini sağlamak, iş yükünü azaltmak, güvenli kayıt tutmalarını sağlamak, kişisel ve mesleki geli- şimlerini artırmak amacı ile bilgi ve iletişim teknolojisinin kullanımı dolayısıyla sağlık bilişimi büyük önem taşımakta- dır. Sağlık bakım sisteminin büyük kısmını oluşturan hem- şireler, bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinin en büyük kullanıcı- larındandır. Hemşirelik bilgisi ve uygulamalarının gelişimi için yeni teknolojilerin, hastane bilgi yönetim sisteminin kullanılması dolayısıyla hemşirelik bilişiminin önemi yad- sınamaz. Bu makalenin amacı hemşirelik bilişimini açıkla- yarak hastane bilgi yönetim sistemi kullanımının hemşirelik uygulamaları açısından önemini vurgulamaktır.

Abstract

The use of information and communication technologies has dramatically increased in the health care system which has been evolving and progressing with the scientific and technological developments. Information and communica- tion technologies, and therefore, the health care informatics are of great importance in terms of ensuring quality service by the health care professionals, reducing their workload, keeping secure records, as well as personal and professi- onal development. Nurses, representing the majority gro- up in the health care system, are among the most frequent users of the information and communication technologies. Utilizing the advanced technologies, the hospital informa- tion management system, and the nursing informatics in ge- neral is vital for the improvement of the nursing knowledge and practices. The purpose of this article is to describe the nursing informatics and emphasize the significance of the hospital information management system for nursing prac- tices.
