Bu araştırma, matematik, resim, fen bilimleri ve sınıf eğitimi bölümünde öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının uzamsal yeteneklerinin; yaş, cinsiyet, matematik başarısı, öğrenim görülen bölüm, ve okul öncesi eğitim almış olma durumu açısından incelenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Bu çalışma, ilişkisel tarama modelinin tercih edildiği nicel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu ölçüt örnekleme yoluyla oluşturulmuştur ve çalışma grubunu Tokat ilindeki bir devlet üniversitesinde öğrenim gören ilköğretim matematik, resim-iş, sınıf eğitimi ve bilgisayar ve öğretim teknolojileri eğitimi olmak üzere 192 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın veri toplama sürecinde Yüksel (2017) tarafından geliştirilen Uzamsal Görselleştirme Testi kullanılmıştır. 27 maddeden oluşan test, zihinde döndürme ve zihinde katlama sorularından oluşmaktadır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, öğretmen adayları Uzamsal Görselleştirme Testinde orta düzeyde başarı göstermişlerdir.

This research intends to study the spatial abilities of teacher candidates in Math, Art, Science and Classroom teaching departments with respect to age, gender, success in Mathematics, field of study and preschool education background. This is a quantitative research in which relational screening model is preferred. The study group of the research is formed by criterion sampling method and it consists of 192 teacher candidates studying in primary school Mathematics, painting-handicrafts, classroom teaching or computer and instructional technologies department of a state university in Tokat province. The Spatial Visualization Test developed by Yüksel (2017) is used in the data collection process of the research. The test consists of 27 items, involving mental rotation and mental folding problems. According to the findings, the teacher candidates presented moderate level success in Spatial Visualization Test.
