Bu amaç doğrultusunda 77 öğretmen adayıyla öntest sontest tek gruplu deneysel bir çalışma düzenlenmiştir. Çalışmada uygulama araştırma tabanlı öğrenme ile bir dönem sürmüştür. Veri toplama aracı olarak öğretmen adaylarının bilimin dünya barışındaki rolü ile ilgili görüşlerini almak için iki tane açık uçlu soru ve dört tane görüşme sorusu kullanılmıştır. Sorulardan elde edilen veriler içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiş ve bulgular öntest ve sontestten elde edilen kodların sıklık ve sayı bakımından karşılaştırılmasıyla sunulmuştur. Çalışma sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının bilimin dünya barışındaki rolüne yönelik görüşlerinin sontestte daha olumlu olduğu, dolayısıyla da araştırma tabanlı öğrenmenin bu bağlamda etkili olduğu bulunmuştur.

It is a one group experimental study conducted in Nature of Science and History of Science research-based education classes. The pre test-post test single grouped experimental study was done with 77 university students during one semester. The data was collected through a two open ended questionnaire and an interview with four open-ended questions. The data was analyzed with content analysis and percentages for pre and post tests were calculated. The results of the study revealed that the students’ views about role of science in world peace changed and became more positive after taking research based classes.
