Abstract
Bone mineral density and different risk factors in 203 post menopausal women were evaluated. Bone mineral density was evaluated by DEXA between levels of L2-L4 and neck of the femur. According to their t score(young reference) patient were divided into three groups. The first group was normal, the second was osteopenic and the third was osteoporotic. In respect to the spinal column, the risk factors which were found significantly related with bone mineral density were duration after menopause, age, weight and using contraceptive pills, and body mass index was additionally related for the hip region. Among the groups, in respect to lomber region, the significantly different risk factors were menarche, duration after menopause/age, weight and height. For the hip region, they were menarche, duration after menopause, age, weight and body mass index.
