Özet

Bu çalışmada Turizm Coğrafyası dersini alan öğrencilerin coğrafi algılarında meydana gelen değişiklikler araştırılmıştır. Araştırma 18 Mart Üniversitesi, Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Yüksek Okulu 3. sınıfta eğitim gören öğrencilerle yürütülmüştür. Yükseköğretimde turizm eğitimi alan öğrenciler, coğrafya ile ilgili konuları Turizm ve Çevre, Sürdürülebilir Turizm ve Turizm Coğrafyası gibi derslerde almaktadırlar. İlk iki ders kapsamında öğrencilerin coğrafi algılarını etkileyecek coğrafi konular yeterince yer almamaktadır. Dolayısıyla öğrencilerin coğrafi algılarını geliştirecek en önemli ders olarak Turizm Coğrafyası dersi önem kazanmaktadır. Araştırmada, öğrencilerin coğrafi algılarını ölçmek amacıyla geliştirilen ölçek dönem başındaki ilk derste ön test olarak, dönem sonundaki son derste ise son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Bu araştırmada, araştırmanın alt problemlerine uygun olarak yüzde (%), frekans (n), aritmetik ortalama (X) ve Ttesti kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğrencilerin Turizm Coğrafyası dersini aldıktan sonra coğrafi algılarında olumlu yönde değişme olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract

In this study, it was investigated the changes in geographic perception of students who study Tourism Geography lesson. The study was carried out with students 3th classes who studying at 18 March University, School of Tourism and Hotel Management. The students who study tourism education in higher education in Turkey study geographical subject in such Tourism and Environment, Sustainable Tourism and Tourism Geography lessons. It can be argued that there are no enough geographical subjects in order to effect on geographical perception of students. Hence, Tourism Geography is one of the most important lessons to increase geographical perception of students. In this study, it was used Frequency (n), percentage (%), mean (X), standard deviation (SS) and t-test were used to analyze the data. Findings showed that the geographical perception of students increased positively after they studied Tourism Geography lessons during four months.
