Abstract

Intracranial lipomas are congenital tumors developing within subarachnoid space as a result of abnormal differentiation of the meninx primativa and may be incidental finding in the evaluation of patients by CT or MRI. In general, they are asymptomatic and require no therapy. MRI clearly show the fat as a high intensity on T1-weighted images and less hyperintense or hypointense on T2-weighted images. This paper presents a patient with an incidental lipoma in the wall of posterior horn of lateral ventricle on MR images. The patient involved no other associated lipomas or developmental brain anomalies.
