Abstract

leiomyoma of the bladder is an uncommon lesion and usually presents as a small intramural or submucosal lesions. They comprise 0.1-0.2% of all urinary bladder tumors. Preoperative evaluation based on careful physical and radiological examinations should rule out malignant lesions. It is generally treated with transurethral resections. The prognosis of the tumor is good that no malignant degeneration has been reported. Most commonly defined symptoms are obstructive and irritative voiding symptoms and hematuria. Although it is rare, bladder leiomyoma may be a cause of urinary stress incontinence and it should be considered during examination of stress incontinence.
