Abstract
Technological developments and the expansion of the general structure of the market from a demand-oriented perspective reveal the concept of geographical diversification. This concept is a systematic decision that adds value to the firm by reducing risk and improving performance. However, this decision also causes some costs and because of these costs, there is no consensus on the outcome of the implementation of the bank..This paper aims toprovide empirical evidence for Turkey regarding to the effects of geographical diversification on risk, liquidity and financial performance of banks. The analysis conducted based on the panel data analysis has been carried out in the 2007-2017 period and in sampling of the deposit banks in Turkey. As a result of the analysis, the inverse results between the geographical diversity and the bank financial performance; the same direction and meaningful results between bank risks and bank liquidity have been found.
