Özet
Tiroidin papiller ve folliküler kanserlerinin tedavisinde cerrahi tedaviye ek olarak ve metastazların tedavisinde radyoaktif iyot (RAİ) tedavisinin yeri oldukça iyi bir şekilde ortaya konmuştur. Bununla birlikte tiroid medüller karsinomada RAİ'un yeri halen tartışmalıdır. Biz bu yazımızda post operatif rezidü gözlenen ve radyoaktif iyot ile başarılı bir şekilde tedavi ettiğimiz tiroid medüller karsinomlu bir olguyu literatür ışığında sunuyoruz.
Abstract
Radioactive iodine has a well-documented place in the treatment of the metastases for papillary and follicular carcinomas of thyroid gland as an adjunct to surgery. However, the role of radioactive iodine in the management of medullary thyroid carcinoma (TMC) is not clarified. Here we present a case of medullary thyroid carcinoma with postoperative residue whom we have treated successfully with radioactive iodine in the light of previous literature.
