Özet
Bu çalışmada, süt ineklerinde kuru döneme geçişte uygulanan kloksasilinin etkinliği araştırıldı. Yaşları 4-9 arasındaki Montafon ve Holstein ırkı kuruya çıkartılan 27 ineğe, gebeliklerinin 7. ayını tamamladıklarında Kaliforniya Mastitis Testi (CMT) uygulandı. Kuruya çıkartmak için yapılan son sağımda ineklerin tüm memelerinden aseptik şartlarda alınan süt örnekleri etken izolasyonu, identifikasyonu ve antibiyotik duyarlılık testleri için laboratuara iletildi. 14 ineğin CMT sonuçlarına göre subklinik mastitis belirlenen (Grup I) meme loplarına kuru döneme geçişteki son sağımı izleyerek kloksasilin içeren 1’er tüp (600 mg Cloxacillin/Orbenin Extra D.C., Pfizer) kuru dönem antimastit preparatı meme içi uygulandı.
Abstract
In this study, efficacy of cloxacillin administered at the beginning of dry period was investigated in dairy cows. Twenty-seven Brown Swiss and Holstein dairy cows with 4 to 9 years of age were used to investigate the incidence of subclinical mastitis by performing California Mastitis Test (CMT) prior to the dry period. Milk samples collected form all teats of each cow were transferred to diagnostic laboratory for identification and isolation of infectious agents. Moreover, sensibility of infectious agents to different antibiotics was determined. An antimastitis drug tube including cloxacillin (600 mg Cloxacillin/Orbenin Extra D.C., Pfizer) for dry period was administered into each mammary lobe of cows (n:14; Group I) having subclinical mastitis diagnosed by CMT following the last milking prior to dry period. Cows (n:13; Group II) without subclinical mastitis based on CMT were not treated, and served as control group. On days 2 and 7 after calving, milk samples were collected to determine the efficacy of cloxacillin treatment based on microbiological investigation. In Group I, 57 infectious agents were isolated from mammary lobes while in Group II, 26 infectious agents were isolated at the beginning of dry period. Based on microbiological results, the rate of treatment and prevention obtained was 89.47% on the 2nd and 7th days of lactation in the first group without further infection. In contrast, the corresponding rate of 15.38% on the 2nd and 34.61% on the 7th days of lactation was found in the second group. In conclusion, cloxacillin may be used for treatment and prevention of subclinical mastitis at dry period in dairy cows.
