Abstract
By means of technological developments and especially from the beginning of using the Global Positioning System GPS technology in photogrammetry, the need for ground control points and also land survey applications have been considerably decreased. But, the final aim is to start compilation after taking photos without land survey applications. The recent researches in this technology are sensor orientation systems named Global Positioning System-Inertial Navigation System (GPS-INS) and Global Positioning System-Inertial Measurement Unit (GPS-IMU). These systems will be cost and time savings about land survey applications and photogrammetric aerial triangulation measurements. Therefore, the intense studies over the whole world have been discussed in the XXth Congress of International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) too.
