Özet
Tematik öğretim metodunda öğrencilerin ilgi alanlarına göre aktif rol alması esastır. Bu çalışmada ilköğretim 4. sınıflarda canlı ve cansız kavramlarla ilgili yanılgıların giderilmesinde tematik öğretim metodu uygulamasının etkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Sakarya ili, Hendek İlçesi’nde devlete bağlı bir ilköğretim okulunun 4. Sınıf şubelerinden rastgele seçilen bir deney ve bir kontrol grubu oluşturmuştur. Deney grubunda öğrencilerin yetenek ve ilgi alanlarını belirlemek için ‘Akademik Benlik Kavram Ölçeği’ uygulanmıştır. Yetenekleri ve ilgileri doğrultusunda gruplara ayrılan deney grubunda tematik öğretim metoduyla ders işlenmiştir. Kontrol grubunda ise ders kitabına bağlı kalınmıştır. Öğrencilerdeki yanılgıları tespit etmek üzere çalışma yaprağı hazırlanmıştır. Hazırlanan çalışma yaprağı ön test - son test şeklinde uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler nitel ve nicel veri analizi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Öğrencilerdeki canlı ve cansız kavram yanılgılarını gidermede tematik öğrenmenin etkili olduğu görülmüştür.
Abstract
In thematic learning method students have an active role according to their abilities. In this study, it is investigated that the thematic learning how effective on the misconceptions of living and non-living things. The sample of the research consists of an experiment group and a control group from the 4th Class of a Government School that is in Hendek in Sakarya. The “Academic Personality Concepts Scale” was applied in order to measure students’ interests and ability to experiment group. After classifying students according to their interests and ability the subject is learned by thematic learning method in experiment group. In control group the subjects are studied according to the books. Studying papers are prepared to determine the misconceptions about livings and non-livings. The studying papers are applied as pre-test and post-test. The findings are investigated qualitatively and quantitatively. It has been seen that thematic learning is effective on remedying the misconceptions of the students about livings and non-living things.
