Özet
Chlamydia trachomatis en yaygın görülen seksüel geçişli bakteriyel patojenlerden biridir. Semptomatik erkeklerde Chlamydia trachomatis saptamak için ilk idrar ile yapılan enzyme immunoassay testleri kullanılmaktadır. Çalışmamızda Semptomatik erkeklerde Chlamydia trachomatis saptamak için üretral örnekler yerine idrar örneklerinin kullanılabilirliliğini araştırmayı amaçladık. Pamukkale Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Üroloji Polikliniğine ardışık olarak başvuran 69 semptomatik erkek çalışmaya alındı. Üretral ve idrar örneklerinde Chlamydia trachomatis enzyme immunoassay (Chlamydiazyme Abbott) yöntemiyle araştırıldı. Üretral örneklerin 10'unda (%14.5), idrar örneklerinin 8'inde (% 11.6) Chlamydia trachomatis saptandı, idrar örneklemesinin Chlamydia trachomatis tanısında alternatif bir' yöntem olabileceği sonucuna varıldı.
Abstract
OBJECTIVE: Our purpose was to determine whether the use of urine samples from symptomatic male patients can replace urethral swabs for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis. STUDY DESIGN: A total of 69 symptomatic male patients who had admitted consecutively to urology outpatient clinic were enrolled in the study. The urethral swabs and first-catch urine samples were collected and tested for presence of Chlamydia trachomatis by enzyme immunoassays. RESULTS: Chlamydia trachomatis was detected in 10 (14.5%) urethral swab and 8 (11.6%) first-catch urine samples. Consistency was calculated to be 94.2% and kappa index was 0.74. CONCLUSION: Urine sampling can be accepted as an alternative method for diagnosis for Chlamydia infection.
