Abstract
Tubal sterilization is the most commonly chosen form of contraception by women who have completed their fertility. Ectopic pregnancy should be highly suspected, if a pregnancy occurs after tubal ligation. This case report describes a 36-year-old woman who had tubal coagulation previously. An unruptured right ampullary-fimbrial ectopic pregnancy in the distal portion of right tube was revealed by exploratory laparoscopy; uteroperitoneal fistula may be the cause of the ectopic pregnancy in this case. Ectopic pregnancy after tubal sterilization is not rare, and all women undergoing this procedure should be informed about the risk of ectopic pregnancy. (Gynecol Obstet Reprod Med 2001; 7:169-171)
