A new technique for the treatment of imperforate hymen by application of foley catheter

Özet
Hymen imperforatus vakalarında hymenin anatomik yapısını bozmadan tedavi etmek amacıyla yeni bir teknik denendi. Imperfora hymen teşhisi konan 9 hasta çalışmaya alındı.Hymende enjektör ucu ile 14-16 nolu foley kateterin geçeceği kadar açıklık oluşturuldu. Vajen içeriğinin boşaltılması sağlandı.Bu açıklıktan 14-16 nolu foley sonda geçirildi. Su ile kalıcı hale getirildi.Foley sondaya idrar torbası takıldı.Foley sonda uyluk iç yüzüne flasterle tespit edildi.Günde bir defa estrojen krem önerildi. 14 günün sonunda sonda çekildi.Menstrüel siklusta kontrole çağrıldı.6 ay ile 3 yıl arasında takip edilen hastaların hiçbirinde hymende kapanma olmadı.
Abstract
OBJECTIVE: Treatment of patients with imperforate hymen without damaging the structure of hymen. STUDY DESIGN: Foley catheter was applied to 9 patients with the history of pelvic pain and diagnosed as imperforate hymen in Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine, Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In none of the patients, closure of the hymenal opening was seen after application of foley catheter during the 3 years of follow-up period RESULTS and CONCLUSION: This technique is both less invasive than the other methods and prevents many social problems by preventing destruction of the architecture of hymen.
