Mucinous ovarian carcinoma developing ten years after the excision of a mucinous cystadenoma

Özet
36 yaşında bekar hasta pelvik kitle tanısı ile yatırıldı. Hastanın öyküsünde 10 yıl once torsiyone sol over kisti nedeniyle yapılan ovarian kistektomi operasyonu vardı. Bu ameliyatın patoloji sonucu müsinöz kistadenom olarak rapor edilmiş. Laparatomide sol overden kaynaklanan 80x40 cm boyutlarında bir kitle tespit edildi. Cerrahi evreleme sonucunda over IC ovarian müsinöz kistadenokarsinom tespit edildi. 3 kür paklitaksel ve karboplatin kemoterapisi uygulandı. Hasta takibinin 3. yılında iyi durumda izlenmektedir.
Abstract
A 36-year-old virgin presented with a pelvic mass. She reported having had a left ovarian cystectomy for torsion of a left ovarian cyst ten years before whose pathological examination had shown mucinous cystadenoma. At laparotomy a mass of 80x40 cm originating from the left ovary was observed. A surgical staging procedure preserving the uterus and the controlateral ovary was performed. The final pathological report revealed stage IC ovarian mucinous carcinoma and the patient received three cycles of paclitaxel and carboplatin chemotherapy. The patient is well and clinically free of disease in the 3rd year of diagnosis.
