Abstract
Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease, which is an important public health problem in Turkey. In children, it often causes osteoarticular symptoms, but the disease may effect other systems, as well. The most common hematological signs of brusellosis are anemia, thrombocytopenia and leukopenia. Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis is a rare, life-threatening complication of brucellosis. The aim of this study was to report a case presented with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, who had epidemiological clues about brucellosis. The patient responded dramatically to empirical antibrucellosis theraphy.
