Canalis opticus'un morfometrik değerlendirilmesi

Özet

Bu çalışmada 123 erişkin insan kafa iskeletinde canalis opticus'un morfometrik özellikleri araştırıldı ve değerlendirildi. Buna göre, canalis opticus duvarlarının uzunluğu; üst duvar için or¬talama olarak sağda 6.61 mm, solda 6.61 mm (min-max: 4-12 mm), alt duvar için sağda 5.12 mm, solda 4.99 mm (min-max: 2.5-11 mm), iç duvar için sağda 9.69 mm, solda 9.84 mm (min-max: 4-14.8 mm), dış duvar için sağda 9.22 mm, solda 9.10 mm (min-max: 3.5-13 mm) saptandı. Orbital açıklık genişliği, ortalama olarak sağda 4.31mm , solda 4.32 mm (min-max: 3.1-5.6 mm), kraniyal açıklık genişliği sağda 6.48 mm, solda 6.43 mm (min-max: 5-8.9 mm), kraniyal açıklık yüksekliği sağda 4.35 mm, solda 4.36 mm (min-max: 2.6-6.2 mm), üst duvar kalınlığı sağda 1.7 mm, solda 1.66 mm (min-max: 0.9-3 mm) sap¬tandı. Diğer serilerle karşılaştırıldığında, se¬rimizde üst duvarın ortalaması daha kısa, alt duvarın ortalaması ise daha uzun olarak görülmüştür. Buna göre serimizde daha dik yamuk formunda gözlenen canalis opticusun bu özelliğinin ırksal olduğu düşünülebilir.

Abstract

In this study, morphometric characteristics of the opticus canal were studied and evaluated in 123 adult human skulls. Milimetric values of the length of the optic canalis walls were calculated as mean values the right and left sides respectively as follows (minimal and maximal values are described in brackets): Upper wall length 6.61 and 6.61 (4.0-12.0), lower wall length 5.12 and 4.99 (2.5-11.0), medial wall length 9.69 and 9.84 (4.0-14.8), lateral wall length 9.22 and 9.10 (3.5-13). Mean milimetric values of the width of the orbital apertures (WOA), with of the cranial apertures (WCA), height of the cranial apertures (HCA) and thickness of the bony roof (TBR) of the optic canals were found on the right and left sides respectively as follows (minimal and maximal values are described in brackets): WOA: 4.31 and 4.32 (3.1-5.6), WCA: 6.48 and 6.43 (5.0-8.9), HCA: 4.35 and 4.36 (2.6-6.2), TBR: 1.7 and 1.66 (0.9-3.0). We found that the mean values of the upper wall was shorter and the lower wall was longer than the mean values given in other studies. So, the form of the optic canal was found to lee staeper, trapezoid than described in current literature and this specification may be appreciated as a racial characteristic.
