Abstract

Primary progressive aphasia (PPA) has been clinically defined as a progressive language deficit leading to the dissolution of almost all language functions with relative preservation of other cognitive functions until late in the course of the disease. Two types of language impakment have been described for PPA, which differ with respect to the degree of fluency of spontaneous speech. A 69-year-old, right-handed man experienced onset of a slowly progressive, nonfluent language disorder has been presented. There was perisilvian atrophy in magnetic resonance imaging and hipoperfussion, in single photon emission computed tomograhy, in the same area. We would like to represent this patient who has such a rare clinical entity.
