Türkiye’de İşsizlik ve Ekonomik Büyüme Arasındaki İlişki: 1980-2018 Dönemi için Ekonometrik Bir Uygulama

Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye ekonomisinde 1980-2018 yılları arasında gerçekleşen ve tüm dünya ülkelerinin en önemli makro ekonomik göstergeleri içerisinde yer alan işsizlik ve ekonomik büyüme değişkenlerinin birbirleriyle olan etkileşimlerinin analiz edilmesidir. Bu bağlamda analiz neticesinde ortaya çıkacak sonuç ile ülke ekonomisinin istihdam ve büyüme performansına katkı sağlanmasına yardımcı olabilecek politika önerilerinin sunulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada 1980-2018 döneminde işsizlik ve ekonomik büyüme değişkenleri yıllık değişkenler itibariye ele alınmış ve 39 gözlem değeri ile vektör otoregresif modelin kuruluş aşamaları başarılı bir şekilde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda ilgili yıllar için ilk olarak ADF birim kök testleri yapılmış ve birtakım ekonometrik testlerin ardından nedensellik ilişkilerinin tespiti ile çalışma sonlandırılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda herhangi bir nedensellik ilişkisi saptanmadığı için 1980-2018 dönemi 1980-1999 ve 2000-2018 olmak üzere iki alt döneme indirgenerek analiz uygulamaları yeniden işleme konulmuş olup söz konusu dönem analizlerinde de herhangi bir nedensellik ilişkisine rastlanılmamıştır.
Abstract
The aim of this study that took place between the years of 1980-2018 in Turkey and all countries of the word economy, the most important macro-economic indicators located in unemployment and economic growth is the analysis of the variables interact with each other. In this context, it is aimed to present policy recommendations that may contribute to the employment and growth performance of the national economy with the result of the analysis. In the study, the variables of unemployment and economic growth were taken into consideration as annual variables in the period 1980-2018 and the establishment stages of the vector autoregressive model with 39 observation values were carried out successfully. For this purpose, ADF unit root tests were performed for the related years and after some econometric tests, the study was concluded with the determination of causality relationships. Since no causality relationship was detected as a result of the analysis, the 1980-2018 period was reduced to two sub-periods, 1980-1999 and 2000-2018. The analysis applications were re-processed and no causality relationship was found in the analysis of the said period.
