Özet

Sinoviyal kondromatozis (SK), metaplastik kartilaginöz nodül oluşumu ile karakterize nadir, benign bir durumdur. Bu olguda, temporomandibüler eklemin sinovial kondromatozisi sunuldu. Bunlar parotis bezinin primer tümörlerini taklit edebilirler. Preauriküler şişlik parotis kitlelerinin en sık başlangıç semptomudur. Bu nedenle parotis kitlesi olan hastalarda değerlendirmede ve tanıda temporomandibüler eklem hastalıkları akılda tutulmalıdır.

Abstract

Synovial chondromatosis (SC) is a rare, benign condition characterized by the formation of metaplastic cartilaginous nodules. In this study, we present a case of synovial chondromatosis of the temporomandibular joint, as they may initially suggest primary neoplasms of the parotid gland. Preauricular swelling is a common presenting symptom that suggests a parotid mass. For this reason, diseases of temporomandibular joint must be kept in mind in evaluation and management of the patients with a parotid mass.
