Kıbrıs Şer’iye Sicillerine Göre Nizam-ı Cedid Islahatı ve Kıbrıs

Özet

“Nizam-ı Cedid” ifadesi hem Osmanlı Padişahı III. Selim’in ıslahatlarına genel olarak verilen bir isim, hem de onun zamanında yeni kurulan orduya verilen bir isimdir. Nizam-ı Cedid ordusu kurulduktan sonra bu ordunun masrafları için “İrad-ı Cedid” adlı bir de hazine kurularak bazı gelir kaynakları bu hazineye devredilmişti. Bu çalışmamızda Lefkoşa Şer’iye Sicilleri’ne dayanarak Kıbrıs’taki Nizam-ı Cedid uygulaması ve Kıbrıs’ın İrad-ı Cedid hazinesine katkıları ele alınmıştır.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to reveal the effects of “Nizam-ı Cedid” reforms by Selim, the third, on Cyprus in the late of XVIII century and the begining of the XIX century. Selim, the third founded a new army (Nizam-ı Cedid” and a treasure “İrad-ı Cedid”. The expenses of this army covered with some taxes, such as “zecriyye” (the tax for alcoholic drinks). In this study we will use the records of Nicosia Kadi Court and explain the contributions of Cyprus to Nizam-ı Cedid Army and İrad-ı Cedid Treasure.
