Tuna’da savaş Osmanlı Ordusu ve yerel halk (1853-1856)

Özet

Bu çalışma, Kırım Harbi’nin Tuna Cephesi örneğinde ordu ve yerel halk arasındaki ilişkiyi açıklamaya çalışmaktadır. Tebaanın pek çok hususta orduyu desteklemesi beklenmekte; halk lojistik ve inşa işlerinde çalıştıkları gibi aynî ve nakdî olarak da orduya yardım etmekteydi. Reaya ise savaşın bitişini beklerken ordunun nizama tabi olmayan düzensiz birlikleri ile de sayısız problemler yaşamaktaydı. 19. yüzyılda Rusya ile yapılan savaşların, bu cümleden Kırım Harbi’nin, halk ve devlet arasındaki ilişkinin bozulmasında rol oynadığı söylenebilir.

Abstract

This study explains army-society relations in the context of the Danubian campaign of the Crimean War. The Ottoman population supported the army in many respects, especially in the logistical and construction works, and by contributing in kind and cash to the war efforts. Reaya wished for a quick end of the hostilities since they had to cope with the unruly deeds of irregulars. The wars between the Ottoman Empire and Russia throughout the 19th century played some role in deteriorating relations between the subject and state, as in the example of the Crimean War.
