Abstract
: The women editors in the Ottoman world, the scholars and the journalists, within the general framework of their business strategy, aim at empowering their business, expanding the circle of collaborators and promoting their “product” to an increasingly broader readership. This is in order to establish continuity, coherence, appeal and a positive financial outcome, as defined by the rules of the time in a male dominating and fairly competitive publishing sector. All of these women editors will take advantage of both the material and intangible resources in their possession, depending on their social and educational capital, with the initial aim of being accepted, moving on to being successful, entering and finally remaining in the demanding publishing business.
