Özet

17 Ağustos 1999'da meydana gelen deprem Türkiye'nin kuzeybatısını etkilemiş olup, bölgede çok büyük hasarlara yol açmıştır. Bölgeye giden kurtarma ekiplerinin ihtiyaç duyduğu en önemli eksikliklerden birisi de, hızlı ve güvenilir bilgi temini olmuştur. Depremde meydana gelen hasarın yeri ve büyüklüğü hakkında hızlı ve doğru bilgi temini, bütün kurtarma işlemleri için hayati öneme sahiptir. Bu çalışmada; deprem bölgesi içerisinde en büyük hasarın meydana geldiği Gölcük'te, LANDSAT uydu görüntüleri kullanılarak yapılan değişiklik tespiti (change detection) yönteminin kullanımı ve doğruluğu ile ilgili bir araştırma sunulmaktadır.

Abstract

The Eartquake on August 17th 1999 affected the northwestern part of Turkey and made a very great destruction. The main need for the rescue groups in the earthquake area was the rapid and reliable information. Obtaining rapid and accurate information to evaluate the level and the location of thé destruction would be very helpfull for all the rescue activities and management of them. Automatic Change Detection can be very useful to locate the destruction in such conditions. A case study was made to find the accuracy and usage of change detection in that area by using LANDSAT images.
