Examination of Physical Education and Sport Teaching and Primary School Teaching Senior Students' Attitudes Towards the Profession of Teaching with Regard to Some Variables (Kafkas University Example)

Bu araştırma Kafkas Üniversitesi Sarıkamış Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksek Okulu Beden Eğitimi ve Spor öğretmenliği bölümü 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin ve Eğitim Fakültesi Sınıf Öğretmenliği bölümü 4.sınıf öğrencilerinin öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada Sarıkamış Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksek Okulu Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmenliği bölümü 4. Sınıf öğrencilerinden 29 bayan 31 erkek toplam 60 öğrenci ve Eğitim Fakültesi Sınıf Öğretmenliği bölümü 4.sınıf öğrencilerinden 25 bayan 35 erkek toplam 60 öğrenci çalışma grubumuzu oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak iki bölümden oluşan ölçek kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin birinci bölümünde kişisel bilgi formu, ikinci bölümünde öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde spss 20 programıyla t testi, f testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre bölüm ve bölümü isteyerek seçme değişkenine göre anlamlı farklıklar görülmüştür. Cinsiyet ve mezun olunan ortaöğretim kurumları açısından anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır. Sonuç olarak Beden Eğitimi öğretmenliği bölümü son sınıf öğrencilerinin mesleğe karşı tutumları daha yüksektir. Ayrıca beden eğitim öğretmenliği öğrencilerinin bölümü isteyerek seçtiği, sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının mesleklerini istemeden seçtikleri görülmektedir.

Abstract

This study was made to determine the attitudes of the senior students in Kafkas University Sarikamis School of Physical Education and Sports, Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department, and the senior students in Faculty of Education, Primary School Teaching Department, towards the profession of teaching. Survey model was used in this study. The sampling of the study was comprised of 60 students (29 female and 31 male) among the senior students of Sarikamis School of Physical Education and Sports, Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department, and 60 students (25 female 35 male) among the senior students of Faculty of Education, Primary School Teaching Department. A two-part scale was used as the data collection instrument. On first part of the scale, a personal information form was used. The second part was consisted of "öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum ölçeği". According to the findings of the research, significant difference was seen with regard to "bölüm ve bölümü isteyerek seçme" variable. No significant difference was found with regard to gender and secondary education institution that the students graduated. As a result, attitudes towards the teaching profession of the senior students of Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department is higher. In addition, it is seen that the students of Phsyical Education Teaching have chosen the department willingly, but the primary school teacher candidates have not.
