TARİH ÖĞRETMENLERİNİN GÖRSEL MATERYAL KULLANIM DÜZEYLERİ1

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, tarih öğretmenlerinin derslerinde görsel materyal kullanma düzeylerini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın katılımcıları Erzurum ili, Yakutiye ve Palandöken merkez ilçelerinde görev yapan toplam 19 tarih öğretmenidir. Araştırma nitel bir yaklaşım ile ve tarama modeliyle yürütülmüştür. Veriler, araştırmacı tarafından daha önceden oluşturulan ölçütlere göre hazırlanan yapılandırılmış gözlem formu ile toplanmıştır. Yapılandırılmış gözlem formundan elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; araştırmaya katılan tarih öğretmenlerinin büyük bir çoğunluğunun görsel materyalleri seçerken belirlenen ölçütlere uydukları ancak bu görselleri sınıf ortamında kullanırken belirlenen ölçütlere ise çok az uydukları görülmüştür. Yapılan değerlendirmelere göre, araştırmada yer alan tarih öğretmenlerinin büyük bir çoğunluğunun, görsel materyalleri etkin kullanım düzeylerinin düşük olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the level of visual material used in history courses. The participants of the study were 19 history teachers serving in Erzurum, Palandöken and Yakutiye central districts. The study was carried out with a qualitative approach. Required data were collected by structured observation form prepared according to previously established criteria by the researcher. The data obtained by structured observation form was analyzed using descriptive analysis methods. The analysis show that the majority of participating history teachers comply with the criteria set out in selecting visual materials, but they fit very little with the criteria of effective use of visual materials in the classroom. According to study majority of participating teachers demonstrated a low level of effective use of visual materials in history classroom.
