Özet

Toplumsal gelişmeye bağlı olarak, kentin ve kentlilerin (kenttaşların) istemleri ve beklentileri artmaktadır. Kente ilişkin verilerin ve bilgilerin toplanması, depolanması ve analiz edilerek sunulmasının geleneksel yöntemlerle olanaksızlaşması karşısında bir çözüm olarak "Kent Bilgi Sistemleri" geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, kent ve kentliye kamu görevi sunumu için bilişim teknolojilerinden yararlanarak oluşturulan Kent Bilgi Sistemlerinin, kent yönetimine sağlayabildiği olanaklar incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, kentin fiziksel, toplumsal ve kurumsal yapısı irdelenmiş ve mevcut durumun yetersizlikleri üzerinde durularak çözüm yöntemleri araştırılmıştır.

Abstract

Depending upon the social development, the requirements and expectations of both the cities and citizens have been increasing. As a solution to the impossibility of the conventional methods for collection, storage, analysis and presentation of urban data and information, urban information systems have been developed. In this study, the contributions of the urban information systems, which are developed utilizing information technologies in order to offer public service to city and citizens, to the urban management .are evaluated. Additionally, the physical, social and organizational structure of the city are examined and possible solutions are searched considering the disabilities of the current situation.
