Özet

Giriş: Bu çalışmada; hastanemiz mikrobiyoloji laboratuvarında son bir yıl içinde, deri ve yumuşak doku infeksiyonlarından izole edilen, Staphylococcus aureus suşlarının metisiline duyarlılıkları incelenmiştir. Materyal ve Metod: Metisiline dirençli Staphylococcus aureus suşları ile metisiline duyarlı S. aureus suşlarının alternatif antibiyotiklere (sefoksitin, ampisilin, amoksisilin-klavulanik asit, siprofloksasin, eritromisin, gentamisin, klindamisin, rifampin, kloramfenikol, trimetoprim-sülfametoksazol ve sefazolin) duyarlılıkları karşılaştırılmıştır. Suşların antimikrobiyal duyarlılıkları "Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute" standartlarına göre disk difüzyon yöntemiyle araştırılmıştır. Bulgular: Yüz on sekiz suş izole edilmiş ve 23 (%19.5)'ünün metisiline dirençli olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Metisiline dirençli Staphylococcus aureus suşları, diğer antimikrobiyallere de yüksek oranda dirençli olarak saptanmıştır. Vankomisin ve teikoplanin direncine rastlanmamıştır.

Abstract

Introduction: In this study, we examined the methicillin susceptibility of Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from skin and soft tissue infections in the microbiology laboratory in the past year. Materials and Methods: The susceptibilities of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) strains to alternative antibiotics (cefoxitin, ampicillin, amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, gentamicin, clindamycin, rifampin, chloramphenicol, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, and cefazolin) were compared. Antimicrobial susceptibilities of strains were investigated by disk diffusion method according to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) standards. Results: One hundred and 18 strains were isolated, and 23 (19.5%) were found resistant to methicillin. Conclusion: MRSA strains were found highly resistant to other antimicrobials. Vancomycin and teicoplanin resistance was not encountered.
