Abstract

Posterior capsule opacification (PCO) is the most common postoperative complication of uncomplicated cataract surgery. At present, Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy is the standard method for the treatment of PCO. In this method, fibrotic tissue that covers the visual axis is destructed with-out any need for intraocular intervention. This treatment has a quite high success rate, but is associated with some complications. In this presentation, we aimed to discuss clinical findings of a case with vitreous prolapse and intraocular lens dislocation after Nd:YAGcapsulotomy, application methods of Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy, its potential complications, and their causes.
