Abstract
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to make a model to establish the best cooperation and integration of university and education and research hospitals in nursing education and practice. Methods: The descriptive study was conducted on April 5, 2017 with the participation of nurses working in 25 different Ministry of Health Education and Research Hospitals which were affiliated to a State University. The universe of research was composed of 63 nurses and whole of the universe was reached before selection of the sampling. Results: The average age of the nurses participating in the survey was 35.50±6.64 years, and it was determined that 74.2% of them were doing a master’s degrre, 50% of them were employed as education nurses and 50.8% of them had been working in this profession for 15 years. The vast majority of respondents indicated that they agreed with the following facts: “Ineffective student assessment due to lack of teaching staff in the clinic”, “Establishment of a common practice committee with academic and clinical nurses”, “Assignment of nurses having a degree in post-graduate education in clinical practice to an academic staff” “Graduate training nurses who in the clinical field should be part of the theoretical and practical training”. Conclusion: In this study, it was determined that the university and the education and research hospitals adopted collaborative approaches to nursing education and practice. It is recommended that this model be put into practice in pilot education and research hospitals.
