Özet
Çalışmada, Fırat Nehri boyunca 7 adet sediment ve akım gözlem istasyonundan alınan ortalama 30 yıllık günlük nehir debileri (Q) ve askıda katı madde (AKM) konsantrasyonları kullanılmıştır. Uzaktan algılama veri seti olarak, 1997-2011 dönemi içerisinde, Tropik Yağmur Ölçüm Misyonu (TRMM) 3B42 ürünü bölgedeki yağış değişkenliğini karakterize etmek amacıyla temin edilmiştir. Uydu verileri ile elde edilen yağış verilerinin kullanılmasıyla AKM konsantrasyonunun en yüksek değere ulaştığı ekstrem yağış olayların iklimsel değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Ön sonuçlara göre, çalışma alanındaki tüm gözlem istasyonlarında, askıda katı madde konsantrasyonunun 90. yüzdebirlik değerleri toplam AKM akısının %55’ine tekabül etmektedir. Benzer şekilde, nehir debilerinin 90. yüzdebirlik değerleri de toplam debi akısının maksimum %50’sine tekabül etmektedir. Bunun yanı sıra; her istasyondaki günlük yağış verilerinin 99. yüzdebirlik değerleri ile her bir istasyondaki askıda katı madde konsantrasyonunun en yüksek değere ulaştığı tüm AKM konsantrasyonu veri setinin 99. yüzdebirlik değerlerini aşan günler tayin edilmiştir.
Abstract
In the study, daily gauge measurements of river discharge (Q) and suspended sediment concentrations (SSC) from seven sites along Euphrates River have been used for 30 years in average. As a remote sensing dataset, within the period of 1997-2011, the Tropical Rainfall Measurement Mission (TRMM) product 3B42 has been achieved in order to characterize rainfall variability in the region. In conjunction with satellite data depicting rainfall, climatic evaluation of extreme precipitation events, where the SSC events reached the highest value, have been carried out. According to the preliminary results, in all stations of the study area, the SSC at the 90th percentile accounts for more than 55% of the total suspended sediment flux. In a similar manner, the discharge at the 90th percentile accounts for maximum 50% of the total discharge flux. Besides, extreme precipitation events which rainfall exceeds the 99th percentile of rainfall data set within each station and peak SSC days as days in which the SSC exceeds the 99th percentile of the entire SSC data set from each station have been defined.
