Abstract
In-vitro propagation of Cordyline terminalis was achieved thorugh induction and proliferation of shoots from stem explant. The callus formation occurred on cut surface of shoot apices in 2 to 4 weeks. The largest number ofplantlets was produced when callus was maintained by transferring it after one month's interval, 2 to 3 times in MS basal medium. No roots were induced by 2, 4- dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), whereas addition of 5.0 mg/L Naphthalene acetic (NAA) improved the root growth. 6-benzylamino purine (BAP) successfully induced adventitious roots within 3 weeks.
