Özet

Etiyolojisinde genetik ve çevresel faktörlerin rol oynadığı çok yönlü bir hastalık olan prostat kanseri, erkeklerde en sık tanı konan kanser türü olmakla birlikte, aynı zamanda erkeklerde kanser ölümlerinin de beşinci en yaygın nedenidir. Prostat kanseri dünyada ciddi bir halk sağlığı sorunu olmakla birlikte, tedavi ve bakımı profesyonel yaklaşım gerektirmektedir. Tedavisinde çeşitli konservatif tedaviler olmasına karışın, cerrahi tedavi, erken evre prostat kanserinin yönetiminde altın standart ve birincil tedavi seçeneği olarak düşünülmektedir. Prostat ameliyatı sonrası hemşirelik girişimleri; ağrı kontrolü, üriner kateter bakımı, uygun beslenme ve hidrasyonunun sağlanması, aktivite-egzersizin sürdürülmesi, pelvik kas egzersiz eğitimi, hastanın bilgilendirilmesi, ameliyat sonrası komplikasyonların belirti ve bulgularına yönelik eğitim ve psikososyal danışmanlık verilmesine odaklanmaktadır. Prostat ameliyatı sonrası en iyi hasta sonuçlarına ulaşmada sistematik ve kanıta dayalı hemşirelik bakımı uygulamaları tercih edilmelidir. Hemşirelerin bu konuda yapılan çalışmalara katılarak literatüre katkı sağlamaları önerilebilir.

Abstract

Prostate cancer, a multifaceted disease with genetic and environmental factors in its etiology, is the the most commonly diagnosed type of cancer, and the 5th most common cause of cancer deaths in in men Prostate cancer is a serious public health problem in the world and its treatment and care requires a professional approach to its treatment, and care. Although there are several conservative treatments for its management, surgical treatment is considered as the gold standard and the primary treatment option in the management of early stage prostate cancer. Nursing interventions after prostate surgery focus on pain control, care of urinary catheters, maintenance of proper nutrition and hydration, activity and exercise, pelvic muscle exercises, informing the patient, and providing training and psychosocial counseling aiming at signs and symptoms of post-operative complications. To achieve the best patient outcomes after prostate surgery, systematic and evidencebased nursing care practices should be preferred. Potential contribution of the nurses to the literature by participating in the studies on prostate cancer may be recommended.
