Özet

Gastroenterit Salmonella infeksiyonlarının en sık görülen klinik şeklidir ve dünya genelinde önemli bir halk sağlığı problemidir. Salmonella cinsi bakterilerin neden olduğu eklem infeksiyonları diğer Gram negatif bakterilere göre daha nadirdir ve genellikle hemoglobinopati, immunsüpresyon gibi altta yatan bir nedenle ilişkilidir. Bu çalışmada uzun süredir steroid tedavisi alan bir hastada Salmonella serovar Enteritidis’in neden olduğu septik artrit olgusu sunulmuştur.

Abstract

Gastroenteritis is the most common clinical presentation of Salmonella infections and important public health problem worldwide. Salmonella infections of the joints are very rare compared to other gram negative bacteria and they are usually associated with underlying diseases such as haemoglobinopathies and immunosuppressive state. In this study, septic artritis caused by Salmonella serovar Enteritidis in a patient under immunosupression due to long term steroid therapy is presented.
