Milli Mücadele’nin kazanılmasının ardından hayatını tehlikede gören Sultan

Abstract

After National Struggle, Sultan Vahideddin had felt that his life was in danger andtook refuge in British. British who accepted his asylum request, had taken him to Malta atfirst. But he couldn’t stay a lot here and went to Mecca by invitation of King of Hejaz. In themeantime although British had contemplated to exploit his title of caliph, they didn’t seriouslyattempt relevant to this issue. After Mecca, the Last Sultan who couldn’t acclimatize weatherof Hejaz, gone to San Remo where he resided till his death. His travel expenses became a bigproblem for British. Because laws and regulations of British were complex, the issue that isto which departments meet expenses, deadlocked in fact. Vahideddin had taken refuge inBritish because British Empire had the most muslim population in the world, neverthelessit had diffuculty in cover his travel and entertainment expenses. In the his transition processfrom Hejaz to San Remo, British disconnected with him.
