Abstract

There are roughly three ways to obtain omnidirectional images. These are using camera cluster, using cameras with specific lens and using conventional cameras together with a mirror. The last technique mentioned here is known as catadioptric sensor technique. In the general sense catadioptric systems are the combination of mirror and lens systems in order to improve the field of view. With the developing computer and image processing technologies the catadioptric systems have been used for photogrammetric purposes, particularly for indoor and outdoor applications. In this paper the development of catadioptric systems, equipments used and mathematical model of the system are examined.
