Abstract
In the last decade, Precise Point Positioning (PPP) has been a popular topic within the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) community because of its benefits such as operational simplicity, costeffectiveness and elimination of base station requirement. Nevertheless, relatively long convergence time which is required to achieve high positioning accuracy is still the main restriction of PPP. In recent years, the completion of GLONASS constellation and emergence of new satellite systems, such as Galileo and BeiDou have offered significant prospect to improve the PPP performance and to shorten the convergence time. The integration of navigation systems (MultiGNSS) offers additional satellite resources and new frequencies for positioning, timing, and navigation applications. By this means, multi-GNSS provides improvement for number and geometry of visible satellites for PPP. The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of multi-GNSS combinations on PPP performance for Turkey and its surroundings. For this purpose, 24h observation data sets collected at four IGS stations located at Turkey and its surroundings during the week between 5-11 November 2017 were processed under nine different PPP scenarios using PPPH software which is developed by the authors. The results show that the combinations of multi-GNSS have significantly improved PPP performance compared with the standard PPP solution which utilizes GPS observations only.
