Özet

Şehirler medeniyetlerin sırrıdır; bir medeniyeti anlamak için şehirlerinde gezinmek şarttır. Bu, o medeniyetin tabiattaki mecazları nasıl anlamlandırdığı bilgisini de vermektedir. Hayata dair getirilen her yorum, bir neslin emanet alıp kendinden sonraki nesle aktardığı sır olarak geleneği ihdas etmektedir. Medeniyet nasıl bir özelliğe sahip olursa olsun, gelenek ancak böyle bir hafıza aktarımıyla yaşar. Hafıza aktarımı, hatırlama prensibiyle gerçekleşir çünkü insanın doğum ile ölüm arasında geçirdiği hayatta ona biçilen vazife kendisine öğretilen eşyanın adını hatırlamasıdır. Abstract

Cities are the secrets of civilizaton. It is imperative to visit cities in order to understand a civilization. It also gives inormation about how to understand the metaphors of nature. Every comment on life reveals tradition as a secret from one generation to another. Whatever the charecteristic of civilization, tradition lives just memory transfer. The memory transfer takes place with the principle of recall because the task of person is to remember the name of the thing in own life between birth and death. For this reason, civilizations have the power to keep the knowledge that they remember on the vertical axis on the horizontal axis. Just like they were gone because they forgot. As a geography where was seen both types of civilization on earth, the East is telling something to people
