Özet

Hidroelektrik santrallerin (HES) işletmelerinde sıkça rastlanabilecek elektrik şebekesindeki herhangi bir sebepten kaynaklı türbin ani kapanması (yük atması) sonucunda sistemdeki akım, kararlı durumdan hızla kararsız duruma geçer ve akımın hidrolik karakteristikleri zamana bağlı olarak değişir. Özellikle ani kapanma sonucu oluşan su darbesine bağlı basınç artışları gerekli önlemler alınmadığı takdirde sistemde önemli tehlikelere yol açabilmektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında türbini kontrol eden vananın ani kapanması durumunda sistemde oluşacak basınç artışı ve bu basınç artışına, basınç düşürücü vanaların (PRV) etkisi, matematiksel model kullanılarak araştırılmıştır. Modellemede Lozan Federal Politeknik Üniversitesi (EPFL) tarafından geliştirilen “SIMSEN” yazılımı kullanılmıştır. Farklı çaplardaki PRV’lerin sistemdeki basınç artışını azaltma performansı ve basınç dalgasını sönümlemedeki etkinliği incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda PRV’lerin HES işletmelerinde ani kapanmalara karşı gözlenen basınç artışlarında önemli düşüşler sağlayabildiği ve basınç dalgasını güvenli bir şekilde sönümleyebildiği gözlemlenmiştir.

Abstract

As a result of emergency shutdown of turbines due to any reason in the electricity grid which is frequently encountered in the operations of hydroelectric power plants (HEPP), the flow in the system is converted into unsteady condition rapidly from the steady state and the hydraulic characteristics of the flow vary with time. In particular, pressure increases due to the water hammer in concurrence with the emergency shutdown can cause significant hazards in the system unless the necessary preventions are taken. In the scope of this study, the pressure increases of the system and the effect of pressure relief valves (PRV) on this pressure increase are investigated by using a mathematical model. “SIMSEN” software developed by Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) is used in modelling. PRVs of different diameters are investigated to check its effect on performance of decreasing the magnitude of pressure increase in the system and its effectiveness in damping the pressure wave. As a result of the study, it is observed that PRVs can provide a significant decrease in the pressure increases against emergency shutdown and could safely absorb the pressure wave in the operation of HEPPs.
