Özet
Göğüs duvarının primer tümörleri genel vücuttümörleırinin %2'sini oluşturur. Bunların %50-80'imaligndir. Kostal osteokondrom, bütün benign kostatümörlerinin %50 sini oluşturmaktadır. Maligndejenerasyona eğilimi ve intratorasik komplikasyonaneden olabileceğinden cerrahi olarak çıkarılmalıdır.Göğüs ağrısı ve toraks ön duvarında ele gelen şişlikşikayeti olan 14 yaşındaki hastanın akciğer grafisinde solhemitoraksta 2-3 ve 4. kotta kosto-kartilaj bölgesindekitle tespit edildi. Hasta alt ekstremite yerleşimli multiplosteokondrom nedeni ile 3 yıl önce ameliyat edilmişti.Toraks tomografisinde saptanan lezyon etraf doku ileilişkisi olmayan 9x6 cm boyutunda düzgün sınırlı kitleolarak rapor edildi. Kitle total olarak çıkaırıldı. Patolojisonucu osteokondrom olarak geldi. Bir yıldır takipteolan olguda herhangi bir olumsuzluk saptanmadı. Buyazıda, osteokondrom için nadir yerleşim yeri olan kostakökenli osteokondrom olgusu literatür bilgisi ilesunuldu
Abstract
Primary tumors of the chest wall, including bone andsoft tissue tumor, account for approximately 2% of allprimary tumors found in the body. The reportedincidence of malignancy in these tumors varies fromapproximately 50 to 80%. Costal osteochondroma isthe most common benign bone neoplasm, constitutingnearly 50% of all benign rib tumors. It should beresected because of the risk of malignancy andintrathoracic complications. The patient that had chestpain and swelling anterior chest wall was 14 years old.The mass on the 2-3 and 4 th rib-cartilage zone of theleft hemithorax was stated by chest graphy. He wasoperated on lower extremity localization of multipleosteochondroma 3 years ago. It was reported as aregular size of 9x6 cm non-invasive on the chestcomputerized tomography. The mass was totallyresected. Osteochondroma was reported by thepathologist. The patient was observed for one yearafter surgery with a favorable outcome. This reportpresents a rare localization of an osteochondromaoriginating from a rib in light of the related literature
