Abstract

This short review aims to give a summary of modernization in medical education in the last century of Ottoman Empire in spite of the inevitable decline in economics and politics and to draw a link to March 14th which is first celebrated in 1919 by medical students of Mekteb-i Tıbbiye-i Şahane as a protest to the occupation of Istanbul.
