Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının değişken kavramına yönelik pedagojik alan bilgilerini, öğrencilerin anlamalarını bilme ve öğretim sunumlar bilgileri bileşenleri bağlamında incelemektir. Nitel yaklaşımı esas alan bu çalışmada, durum çalışması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın katılımcılarını Türkiye’de yer alan iki ortaokulda öğrenim gören 72 yedinci sınıf öğrencisi ile bir üniversitenin İlköğretim Matematik Öğretmenliği Programında öğrenim gören 63 matematik öğretmeni adayı oluşturmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Soylu (2008) çalışmasında yer alan açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan form kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ise, betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonunda, matematik öğretmeni adaylarının değişken kavramı ile ilgili öğrenci hatalarını belirlemeye yönelik öğrencilerin anlamalarını bilme bilgilerinin orta düzeyde oldukları, fakat öğrenci hatalarının düzeltilmesine yönelik öğretim sunumlar bilgilerinin istenilen düzeyde olmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır.
Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine the pre-service teachers’pedagogical content knowledge concerning the concept of variable to examine students’ understanding of the knowledge and training presentations in the context of data components. It was designed in terms of qualitative research approach and the case study method was used in the study. The participants of this study consisted of 72 seventh grade students and 63 pre-service mathematics teachers. As the data collection tool of the study, the form which consists of open-ended questions of Soylu’s (2008) work was used. In the analysis of data, the descriptive analysis technique was used. At the end of the study, results showed that pre-service mathematics teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge from the understanding of students’ information was at the average level. Teaching strategies information (teaching presentation information) was not on the level that expected
