Abstract
In this article, we shall primarily focus on the diplomatic relations that Prophet Muhammad established with Ashama, Abyssinian An-Najashi, and Heraclius, Emperor of the Byzantine, who both lived in the same age with Prophet Muhammad. It is generally recognized by the Islam world that Ashama and Heraclius were secret Muslims. This recognition leads us to the conclusion that there were two states, whose rulers Islam and subjects were Christian in the age of the prophet. In addition to Heraclius, another emperor of the Byzantine, whose name is associated with Islam, is Manuel I Comnenus, the ruler who was defeated in the battle of Myriokephalon in 1176. Although different myhts are running around about the beliefs of Ashama, Heraclius and Manuel I Comnenus, they were actually the persons, who acted as presidents. Therefore, dreams were based not on their properties, but their spiritual world. In the other section of the study, we shall discuss the largest empire of aforementioned age, which had no property or president. It is a weird twist of history that the dream of Prester John, founder of the empire with a Christian character established in late Middle Age, is associated with Abyssinia, which made good impressions on the imagination of Muslims since very early days, but it also made an effect on the spirit of this article.
